Sarah Niegelsky

Maid of Honor

Sarah (UNC ‘11) and Elizabeth met their sophmore year at UNC and instantly hit it off. They were both from the 336 area, Tar Heels born, big fans of Lil’ Wayne, and both Geminis (their birthdays are 8 days apart!). They became roomies and the rest became history. They lived together for the next 4 years and in the 12 years they’ve been friends, they’ve attended lots of Carolina tailgates and games, traveled to many places (not sure they even went to class senior year), and have gotten into all types of trouble together! One of their favorite traditions is riding around in December to look at Christmas lights!

Maggie (Wooten) Scott

Matron of Honor

Maggie (UNC ‘13) and Elizabeth met in 2008 at Roy Williams Basketball Camp. In their first outing together, Maggie rode in the trunk of Elizabeth’s Scion to go to a haunted house. They really got to know each other in 2013 after Maggie started dating one of Elizabeth’s closest friends, Shaun. Maggie and Shaun postponed their November 2020 wedding to 2021, but Elizabeth had the honor of being a part of their elopement on 11/11/20! Maggie’s sister Frannie was actually Elizabeth’s first client as a wedding planner, so they’ve had lots of experience planning weddings together and Elizabeth attributes her career as a wedding planner to Maggie helping secure her first couple!

Amy Hayes

Bridesmaid

Amy and Elizabeth met in first grade when they shared a red chair together at school while watching The Lion King. They grew up together as best friends from that moment through middle and high school. Elizabeth’s dad used to supply them their meals of choice in those days, which included Wendy’s chicken sandwiches, parfaits from TCBY, and lots of packs of Gushers. Since graduating high school together in 2007, they’ve continued their friendship through occasional visits and by celebrating lots of birthdays in Charlotte (Amy is also a Gemini, and also 8 days apart from Elizabeth!). Some highlights are when Elizabeth visited Amy in LA in 2018, as well as a trip to the Dominican Republic together. Amy and Elizabeth have enough blackmail on each other from their 20+ years together (high school was a wild time) that their friendship will never end!

Jazmine Walker

Bridesmaid

Jazmine (UNC ‘13) met through Jazmine’s fiance, Erik (also known as Mookie). Erik was friends with Elizabeth and Sarah his freshman year and often visited their apartment, so when he started talking about a new girl he was seeing they had to know all the details! Over time Jaz and Elizabeth bonded at lots of football games and nights out in Chapel Hill together. They’ve traveled to Atlanta, Charleston, Asheville, and New Orleans (Essence Festival!) and have made lots of memories together. Unfortunately, a lot of those memories are not appropriate to share with the public. ;) Elizabeth has had the pleasure of watching Jaz and Erik’s relationship grow throughout the past 10 years and is so excited to see them get married in October 2021!

Jessica Tyson

Bridesmaid

Jessica “Tyson” (UNC ‘13) and Elizabeth met in 2013, at the beginning of Kendall and Elizabeth’s relationship (she too, has some stories from those early days!). Tyson was a senior with Maggie, Jazmine, and Ariel, and their paths kept crossing at Shaun’s house. Since Tyson stayed in the area after graduating they continued to hang out and get to know each other. While she is the least traditional of Elizabeth’s friends, Tyson is the other chef in the group so they have tag teamed lots of potlucks and meals (they even catered a bridal luncheon together!) She is a CPA and owns a candle company, so Tyson now supplies Elizabeth with both financial advice and seasonal scented candles, as well as a good listening ear and a lot of humor.

Ariel Roberts

Bridesmaid

Ariel (UNC ‘13) and Elizabeth met through a mutual friend at one of Elizabeth and Sarah’s apartment parties during college. A couple of years later, Ariel became a store associate at Underground Printing. Many of Ariel’s shifts became a therapy session for the two of them. In 2014, Elizabeth planned Ariel’s pumpkin-themed baby shower, which was obviously right up her alley! Elizabeth was also Ariel’s ride to the hospital when she went into labor with her son Aaron. As it was a quick labor, Ariel’s family was not able to make it in time for the birth so Elizabeth had the honor of helping deliver baby Aaron and even got to cut the cord, all while Facetiming in Ariel’s family that was on the way down from Michigan! Despite a couple of moves, they have remained friends through the miles and Ariel is remains a go-to friend for a good “vent session”!

Madieu Shyllon

Best Man

Kendall’s best friend from Martin middle school, these two bonded during band class. Both playing the trumpet, the brass section was full of more laughs than musical notes. Mad and Kendall have always been competitive, carrying this spirit on to SE Raleigh High School and even across state lines as Kendall attended UNC and Mad attended Howard in DC. Who is really the best tennis player since Kendall chose golf in high school?!

Victor Young

Groomsman

Kendall’s best friend from middle school, high school, and college years. These two met playing football in 6th grade then re-connected at SE Raleigh High School before sharing a living room during college. While both quit football after just 1 season, they continue to compete and navigate through life’s journey together. Their love for sneakers always leads to convos on who's the most fly and flashy.

Makiva Muhammad

Groomsman

Kendall’s best friend from SE Raleigh High School, these two bonded on the school bus home. By Senior year, Kendall was able to drive and these Tar Heels ventured to Chapel Hill to watch UNC win the 2009 National Championship. Partying ensued! From Wilmington to Chapel Hill they have seen almost every corner of NC together. From tattoos in ATL to venturing through Mexico these two have always vibed above & beyond!

Tyrone McNeil

Groomsman

Kendall’s best friend from UNC, these two bonded Freshman year after meeting just a few weeks prior during the summer. From then on they were inseparable, having lived together every year following through graduation (#Glasshouse). Despite the parties and good times both left Chapel Hill with degrees and continue to explore the world together sharing stories of software sales & past tales.

Devin Lancaster

Groomsperson

Kendall’s younger sibling (they/them) and fellow 90s baby! These two have seen the world together from a lens not viewed by many. Their passion for saving the Earth through sustainable practices extends from farming to transportation and energy creation. They have always loved the outdoors and continue to support each other while living just 3.5 miles apart in Durham. Devin continues to impress Kendall with artful creations surpassing the realms of 'traditional' ineptitude.

Henry Lancaster III

Groomsman

Kendall’s older brother from the 80s. This talented musical composer introduced Kendall to different genres in every decade. From NERD in the 2000s, to girl talk, to his own Malik Hendrix albums in the 2020s they continue to rock on the bass line of life. Who else attended Outkast's farewell tour with their brother on an island in NYC?
